In making this preliminary public interest determination (which hopefully will be carried through to the final Record of Decision to be issued later this year), the Forest Service has cited a wide variety of benefits expected to occur as a result of the land exchange. We have reprinted some of these benefits directly from the DEIS on the following pages which, if you choose, you may copy and use in EMAILs or letters to the Forest Service and our elected officials supporting the exchange.
Please register to enter the benefits page
To read the DEIS in its entirety visit: http://www.fs.usda.gov/ projects/ riogrande/ landmanagement/ projects. To reduce the use of paper and mailing costs, online viewing and commenting is encouraged. To request a CD, please contact the Divide Ranger District Office at 719-657-3321.
